Microsoft readies NUads: They watch you watching them – CNET

“Microsoft is planning to launch an ambitious plan in the next month to revamp advertising: television that watches you watching it.

 

Interactive NUads advertisements tied to the Kinect sensor will roll out in late spring, Microsoft tells CNET.

The goal of NUads is to convince people to stop using their DVR to skip or fast-forward through ads by using the Kinect sensor for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console and Windows PCs to make ads far more interactive.”

Sir Richard Branson backs web video text startup @codocmanifesto – Telegraph

“Sir Richard Branson has backed a British video start-up that aims to improve technology allowing web users to add text to videos.

 

Sir Richard, awarded the company £750, said that he wanted to use Codoc’s technology across several Virgin web properties and would keep working with the business, but did not take any equity in it.
